Epson F570 Review: Is the 24-Inch SureColor Worth It?

We research products independently. When you buy through links on this page, we may earn a commission from Amazon at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Learn more.

Short verdict: the Epson F570 sublimation printer is the step up for sellers who have outgrown letter-size and 13 x 19-inch sheets. It prints rolls and sheets up to 24.4 inches wide, cuts them with a built-in rotary cutter, runs on the same 140 mL T49M ink bottles as Epson's desktop F170, and comes with next-business-day on-site warranty repair. If most of your work is mugs and tumblers, it's more printer than you need.

This review is based on Epson's published specifications and product pages, authorized-reseller listings and recurring owner feedback from sublimation communities. We haven't run the printer ourselves, and we point out where Epson doesn't publish a figure.

On Amazon, the F570 listing we found is the SCF570PE model sold with two full ink sets and sublimation paper, which matches the Pro package described below. Check the model number on the listing before you buy.

At a glance

Best for: adult shirt fronts and backs, all-over panels, pillow covers, gang sheets of mugs and tumbler wraps, signage and banners.

Skip it if: you mostly make 11 oz mugs, coasters and chest logos, you don't have room for a 38-inch-wide printer, or your heat press is smaller than 15 x 15.

Pros

  • 24.4-inch rolls and sheets with an automatic rotary cutter
  • 140 mL T49M bottles with auto-stop filling, shared with the F170
  • 50-sheet auto feeder for everyday letter and A4-size jobs
  • Standard 1-year warranty with usually next-business-day on-site repair

Cons

  • 84 lb and 38.2 inches wide; a stand is sold separately
  • Rolls must be on a 2-inch core
  • Epson's US store showed it out of stock in October 2026
  • You'll need a larger heat press to use its full width

What stands out

Width changes what you can sell

Desktop sublimation printers top out at 8.5 inches (F170, SG500) or 13 x 19 inches (SG1000, a converted ET-15000). The F570 prints 24 inches across. That means a full adult front, a long sleeve and a back panel can come off one roll, and an oversized print no longer needs to be tiled. It also opens products that desktop printers can't reach, like large pillow covers, garden flags and wide signage.

For small items, the gain is speed rather than size. You can gang a row of mug wraps or tumbler templates across the roll, print once and let the cutter separate them. Our sublimation paper guide covers roll versus sheet paper.

Epson ink, without cartridges

The F570 uses T49M dye-sublimation ink in 140 mL bottles with auto-stop filling, the same bottles as the Epson F170. That keeps cost per print low compared with small cartridges, and because the ink is Epson's own, the drivers are built around it. There's no conversion, and no question of whether third-party ink voids the warranty.

Rolls, sheets and a real cutter

You get three paper paths: a 50-sheet auto feeder for sheets up to 11.7 inches wide, top-loading of single sheets up to 24.4 inches, and roll media up to 24.4 inches. The built-in rotary cutter trims automatically after each job or on demand. One limit that catches buyers: rolls need a 2-inch core, and the maximum roll diameter is 4.3 inches, so very long industrial rolls won't fit.

Compact for a 24-inch printer

At 38.2 x 20.7 x 9.6 inches, Epson pitches it as small enough for a desktop, with an optional stand sold separately. "Desktop" is relative: it's 84 lb, so plan on a sturdy table that won't flex. Leave room in front for paper to exit and behind for the roll.

Warranty with on-site service

Epson's standard warranty is one year, usually with next-business-day on-site repair and toll-free phone support. That's a different level of service than the unit exchange on the F170, which matters when a printer this size is your main production tool. Epson also sells extended service plans.

Epson F570 vs F570 Pro

Both are the same 24-inch printer. The Pro (model SCF570PE) changes the software and what's in the box.

SureColor F570 SureColor F570 Pro
Model SCF570SE SCF570PE
Software Dye-sublimation drivers for Mac and Windows Epson Edge Print Pro with Adobe PDF Print Engine
Layout tools Driver-based Job layout and nesting, pattern repeats, advanced color controls
Starter ink Not itemized in Epson's box list Two full sets of CMYK 140 mL bottles
Paper in box Not itemized in Epson's box list DS Transfer Multi-Use: one 24 in x 100 ft roll, two 17 in x 100 ft rolls
Price tier Premium Higher premium

Choose the Pro if you print gang sheets or repeating patterns every day. Nesting packs designs tightly onto the roll, which saves paper, and pattern repeats help with fabric yardage and all-over prints.

Choose the standard F570 if you print one design at a time from Photoshop, Illustrator or Canva-style tools. You can lay out a gang sheet manually and save the difference.

Who should skip the F570

Mug, tumbler and coaster sellers

An 11 oz mug wrap, a 20 oz skinny tumbler template and a coaster all fit on letter-size sheets. An 8.5-inch printer does that work for a fraction of the price and space. Start with the Epson F170 or a Sawgrass SG500, both covered in our best sublimation printers guide.

Shirt sellers who stay at 13 x 19

If your largest shirt print fits on a 13 x 19 sheet, a desktop printer like the Sawgrass SG1000 covers it in less space. Epson has also announced the SureColor F370, a compact 13 x 19-inch sublimation printer with a 150-sheet 8.5-inch cassette and a 15-sheet 13 x 19 tray, due in November 2026. If you're on the fence, it's worth waiting to compare.

Anyone with a small heat press

A 24-inch print is only useful if you can press it. If you own a 15 x 15 press, most of the F570's extra width goes unused until you upgrade. Factor the press into the budget; our heat presses for shirts guide covers 16 x 20 options.

Alternatives

Sawgrass SG1000: Best desktop alternative

The SG1000 prints 11 x 17 inches from its main tray and 13 x 19 inches with the bypass tray, takes 20, 31 or 70 mL cartridges, and Sawgrass covers recent purchases for 3 years or 100,000 prints. It's the better fit for shirt sellers whose designs stay within 13 x 19 and who value Sawgrass's color management and support. See our Sawgrass sublimation printer review.

Epson SureColor F170: Best small Epson

If you want Epson's ink and drivers in a 10.2 lb desktop printer, the F170 prints up to 8.5 inches wide (8.5 x 47.2-inch maximum sheet) from a 150-sheet tray, with the same T49M bottles. It's the better buy for hard goods and chest prints. Read our full Epson F170 review.

Converted Epson EcoTank ET-15000: Budget 13 x 19

The ET-15000 prints 13 x 19 through its rear feed and can be filled with third-party sublimation ink. It's the cheapest route to 13 x 19, but conversion is one-way and Epson doesn't support it. Our Epson EcoTank sublimation guide explains the trade-offs.

Setting up an F570 workspace

  • Room conditions. Epson recommends 65–75°F (18–24°C) and 45–60% humidity while printing. Unisub also advises storing paper in the same room as the printer, dry and at room temperature.
  • Table and clearance. Use a stand or a rigid table rated well above 84 lb, with room for the roll at the back and prints exiting at the front.
  • Network. It connects by USB, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct or wired Ethernet; Ethernet is the most dependable for large print files.
  • Press size. Plan a 16 x 20 or larger press if you'll print adult fronts and backs. Our best sublimation printers for shirts guide pairs printers and presses by print size.
  • Paper. Epson's DS Transfer Multi-Use paper is the matched option, and the Pro bundle ships with three rolls of it.

Paper for the F570

Epson pairs the F570 with its own DS Transfer Multi-Use paper, which Epson describes as a general-purpose transfer paper for both soft and rigid materials. The F570 Pro's box shows how Epson expects it to be used: one 24-inch x 100-foot roll and two 17-inch x 100-foot rolls, so you can run full-width panels or narrower jobs without wasting paper.

Check the core size before buying third-party rolls.

A few practical limits from Epson's spec sheet shape what paper you can buy:

  • Roll width: 13 inches minimum, 24.4 inches maximum.
  • Core: 2-inch, with user-adjustable roll adapters.
  • Roll diameter: up to 4.3 inches, which rules out very long industrial rolls.
  • Thickness: up to 8.6 mil.
  • Sheets: the auto feeder takes sheets from 8.27 inches up to 11.7 inches wide; wider single sheets load from the top.

Third-party rolls work if they match those numbers, but check the core size first. Our sublimation paper guide compares roll and sheet options.

Is the F570 worth it? A quick checklist

Buy the F570 if most of these are true:

  • [ ] At least some of your best-selling designs are wider than 13 inches.
  • [ ] You print enough each week that ganging designs on a roll saves real time.
  • [ ] You own, or will buy, a 16 x 20 or larger heat press.
  • [ ] You have a sturdy table or stand and room for an 84 lb printer.
  • [ ] On-site warranty service matters to you because downtime costs orders.

If you checked two or fewer, a desktop printer is probably the better buy today, and Epson's 13 x 19-inch SureColor F370 is worth a look once it ships.

How we chose

We didn't test the F570 ourselves. This review draws on Epson's US product pages and specifications for the SureColor F570 and F570 Pro, Epson's SureColor F370 announcement, specifications for the alternatives from Sawgrass and Epson, and recurring owner feedback on sublimation forums and groups. We list only specs that the manufacturers publish.

FAQ

Is the Epson F570 good for beginners?

It's easy to run, with Epson ink, a touchscreen and dye-sublimation drivers, but it's a lot of printer for a beginner. At 84 lb and 38 inches wide, it needs a dedicated table or stand, and 24-inch prints need a 16 x 20 or larger heat press. Most beginners are better served by an 8.5-inch printer such as the Epson F170.

What is the difference between the Epson F570 and F570 Pro?

The hardware is the same 24-inch printer. The Pro adds Epson Edge Print Pro software with an Adobe PDF Print Engine, which handles job layout and nesting, pattern repeats and advanced color controls. Epson also lists two full sets of starter ink and three rolls of DS Transfer Multi-Use paper in the Pro's box.

What ink does the Epson F570 use?

Epson T49M dye-sublimation ink in 140 mL bottles: T49M120 black, T49M220 cyan, T49M320 magenta and T49M420 yellow. These are the same bottles the SureColor F170 uses.

Can the Epson F570 print on sheets?

Yes. It has a 50-sheet auto feeder for sheets up to 11.7 inches wide, and you can top-load single sheets up to 24.4 inches wide. It also prints from rolls up to 24.4 inches wide on a 2-inch core, with a built-in rotary cutter.

What heat press do I need for an Epson F570?

Match the press to your largest print. For full 24-inch-wide panels, you need a large-format press; for adult shirt fronts cut from the roll, a 16 x 20 press is the practical minimum. Unisub advises using a press slightly bigger than the item, because the outer edge of a platen runs cooler.

Is the Epson F570 discontinued?

Epson's US store still lists both the F570 (SCF570SE) and the F570 Pro (SCF570PE) but showed both out of stock in October 2026. Check authorized Epson resellers for current stock before you plan around it.

Verdict

The Epson F570 is the right printer when 13 x 19 inches has become the bottleneck: 24-inch rolls, a cutter, low-cost 140 mL bottles and on-site warranty service make it a production tool rather than a hobby printer. Pick the F570 Pro if nesting and pattern repeats will save you hours every week. If your products fit on smaller sheets, the Sawgrass SG1000 or Epson F170 does the job in less space.
